Peace
Peace is healing.
Peace is possible.
Peace begins in earnest as the structural violence in our society is dismantled. As John Galtung cites, everyone’s basic needs must be addressed consistently and sustainably if we desire to see long-lasting peace. Otherwise, the pain and suffering that nourished violence will be available in abundant quantities. It is Ahimsa, the quality of peace sustained through right thinking and right action one should embody. This is the attitude and lifestyle Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount.
